Antique Victorian Renaissance Revival Oak Hall Chair c.1880s Tooled Leather Seat
A beautiful and original late 19th century Victorian Renaissance Revival chair, featuring a richly carved oak frame, ornate cross-stretcher with floral medallion, and tooled leather upholstery to both the seat and back. Upholstered with traditional horsehair stuffing and finished with decorative brass floral studs.
This is a striking piece that can be used as a decorative statement chair, hall chair, or incorporated into a dining set. Ideal for period interiors, restoration projects, or antique display.
Condition:
Please examine all photos carefully. This is a genuine antique item over 100 years old and shows signs of age and use, including:
• Worn, cracking, and distressed leather
• Tears or losses to leather upholstery
• Missing or loose upholstery studs
• Surface marks, scuffs and knocks to the wood
• Historical (inactive) woodworm in places
• Some joints may benefit from tightening or light restoration
Despite this, the chair remains structurally sound and displays beautifully.
I have left this completely unchanged and untouched. I have not tried to clean it or treat the leather or wood at all. I cannot tell you if previous owner has done anything but I know I have not. Wanted to leave as original as possible for you.
Please examine pictures carefully for condition issues and if I’ve forgotten to mention anything the pictures will show this.
