The Digital VT420 is a video display terminal produced by Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) in the early 1990s – one of the last and most capable terminals in DEC's celebrated VT series, supporting VT100, VT220, VT320, and VT420 emulation modes. DEC terminals are iconic pieces of computing history, widely used in universities, research institutions, and corporate environments throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Genuine VT420 units are increasingly scarce and sought after by vintage computing collectors, retrocomputing enthusiasts, and prop buyers.

Known Faults & Condition Issues

Completely dead – no power at all
Screen appears to show a faint image even when unplugged – likely screen burn or phosphor persistence
Housing has numerous scratches throughout
