A substantial vintage embossed brass-clad coal box or log box in the Victorian/Edwardian repousse style, featuring richly detailed figurative scenes across all main panels. The wooden chest construction is clad in embossed brass sheet to the front, sides, and lid, with the rear left as bare aged timber — typical of period pieces of this type.

• Lid: A hunting and equestrian scene — horses, riders, and hounds in a landscape with trees, framed by an ornate foliate and scroll border
• Front panel: A Dutch/Flemish-style tavern interior scene — figures seated around a table eating and drinking, with a fireplace and brick wall in the background, in the manner of 17th-century genre masters
• Side panels: Further figurative genre scenes with figures gathered in interior settings
• Borders: All panels framed with repeating scroll and bead borders; decorative brass boss roundels at corners
