A handsome pair of Edwardian mahogany bedroom chairs with exceptional marquetry and satinwood inlay throughout. Each chair features a shaped crest rail, a central splat inlaid with a classical figure (putto/cherub with bow) surrounded by acanthus leaf scrollwork and floral motifs, with satinwood stringing lines framing the back. The front legs are turned and reeded, typical of quality Edwardian craftsmanship. The drop-in upholstered seats are currently covered in unfinished hessian/calico and require a top fabric to complete.

Condition notes:

• The marquetry inlay on the crest rail of one chair is partially lifting/coming away — as shown in close-up photos. This is a restorable condition

• A few historic inactive woodworm holes noted on the back of one chair — treated as a precaution
• One leg has a crack
• General wear and surface marks consistent with age
